Madeleine Dring: her music, her life The second edition of Ro Hancock-Child's biography of Madeleine Dring (Micropress 2009) is now available for purchase here, at £10.99 (p&p inc.). The biography outlines Madeleine's colourful and multi-faceted life, from her London war-time upbringing, through her eventful days at the Royal College of Music, and on to her freelance career as a composer, actress and performer. There follows an uncomplicated discussion of her music, exploring the forms and themes within which she chose to work; and a list of compositions, and musical recordings up to the year 2009. The text is peppered with Madeleine's own humorous pencil-and-pen sketches of herself, and the people in her life.
